"BeYouSheet" is a workshop program we developed for app ideation. In this workshop, you generate ideas starting from "you" — but "you" here doesn't just mean your inner self. It includes the area you live in, the school you go to, the people and places you interact with daily. We treat your surrounding environment as part of who you are.

Ideation From Yourself and Your Surroundings

Typical ideation approaches start with "what you like" or "what problems you face." BeYouSheet builds on that by also directing attention to your surrounding environment. You expand your view beyond family and friends — to your city, region, country, and even the global level — moving back and forth between micro and macro perspectives. By organizing your surroundings on the worksheet, you discover app ideas from perspectives you wouldn't have reached otherwise. Because each participant's environment is different, the same method produces different ideas for everyone. We've run this workshop at multiple universities and events.

What You'll Get

In BeYouSheet, you write down yourself and your surroundings on the worksheet. You go beyond just family and friends — expanding your view to your city, region, country, and even the global level. By moving back and forth between micro and macro perspectives, you organize what's around you and build a fuller understanding of who you are. From there, you turn those insights into app ideas.
