Code of Conduct

Participating in the Community

All participants in the Swift Students Community Japan community and events hosted by the community are required to comply with the Code of Conduct outlined here, regardless of their role as speakers, attendees, staff, or otherwise, with the aim of providing a safe and secure event experience for everyone present. If you cannot agree to this, we will not be able to allow your participation in the event.

Every event has a purpose. Please refrain from behavior that does not align with that purpose.

Photography and recording may be prohibited at some events. Please follow the instructions given on the day.

Harassment

This community strives to provide a harassment-free community for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, body type, body size, race, or religion.

We do not tolerate harassment of community participants in any form.

Sexual expressions and images are not permitted anywhere, including but not limited to presentation content, venues, webinars, X (Twitter), and other online media.

Participants who violate these rules may be expelled from the venue at the discretion of the organizers.

We ask that no one be discriminated against based on age, gender, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, appearance or skin color, nationality, international affairs, or religious background.

As organizers, we share the same attitude as participants and look forward to building a non-violent, peaceful community together.

For Speakers Presenting at Events

It is not appropriate to use images or text that violate the above in presentations or slides. References involving sexism, racism, or other matters covered above are not permitted, even if intended as a joke.

If you have any questions while preparing your presentation, please consult with the organizing team.

For events hosted by the community, presentation slides generally need to be prepared by the day before the event.

The organizing team may request last-minute changes to presentation structure or content. If changes are requested, we ask for your sincere cooperation and best effort. We also accept advance submission of presentations for review upon request, so please feel free to take advantage of this.

For Community Participants

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassment through photography or recording, disruption of talks, unwelcome comments about other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

However, photography and recording of speaker talks are permitted with the permission of the presenter or the organizing team. This includes screen captures.
